Having lived with, loved, been challenged by, a fearful dog, I loved this book. I wish that I had been able to read it 10 years ago when I first realized the dog that I had adopted had challenges that I was not equipped to handle. Over the years, I learned, made progress, made mistakes, read many books. The information in this book is a great primer to the fearful dog, will spur you on to realize that you CAN help your dog. Of course you will continue to read, to learn, and no one book can have ALL the information you need, but this is a great starting point. Nothing is 100% applicable to every dog, but if I had realized that I had to start my and my dog's journey on her terms, start where she was, we would have had a better relationship from the get-go.
